Waiting for Mail

"Ah but she liked mail. Always had. One never knew what might turn up in the mail. It was like the lottery in which one could hit the jackpot at any moment." (Jan Karon)

I like getting mail as well. Well, letters and cards. Holding them in my hands as I walk up the drive, trying not to tear them open until I'm inside. Good quote and good thoughts.

I still feel this way, even though I get something personal only every few months! Maybe some day I will have a grandchild who likes to write letters back. :-) Right now I just have one letter-writing friend. Everyone is into phone calls, Facebook and e-mail....

My son has been stalking the mail box since last week waiting on Christopher Paolini's latest book to show up. There was a glitch with payment and then the postal holiday. It finally came today and that was one happy boy!
