How To Build Community

Our country definitely needs to do more of these things. I need to do more of these things. How about you? How would life change if we all chose to be more community oriented?

Hi Debbie - just last night we had a community volunteer fire department meeting; I'm the "grandma" of the group. I made brownies and we all sat and planned how best to serve one another and the rest of our community. I'm so PROUD of our young people; they are good folks.
look for an e-card from me via jacquie lawson.

Nice post and good suggestions for all of us! Contrary to what seems to be preached from Washington right now, do it yourself, don't wait for the government to do it for you. Take responsibility for your own actions. Good things don't just 'happen.'

I like this, too. My pet peeve: Get off the dang phone and notice the people around you.

Hi Debbie, hope you'll not mind me calling by at what would be an unsociable time on this side of the Pond! Thought I'd investigate a Creative Lady! Instantly blown away by your post on community. One of my words of the year, you see. Interesting!

Great post! I agree with Wayside W--getting off the the dang phone would be a great community building project. It has taken me awhile to get to know my neighbors, but it's really made a difference in the quality of my life.

Hi Debbie -- did you get an e-card/invitation last week from Sandra (above, at Thistle Cove Farm)? If you're not interested, that's fine. Just wanted to ask, in case it got lost in email land. I'll check back here, to hear from you, or you can leave a comment on my blog, either way.
