Retirement Presents

Originally I was looking for Roy Strong's Destruction of Country Houses, but whenever I did find a copy it was $75.00 on up. I didn't want it that badly. I'll keep looking though. Part of the thrill for me is the hunt. Excess testosterone, I guess!

These two treasures came in the mail yesterday as part of a 'retirement present' I'm giving myself for 28 years of homeschooling our five children. I don't need a gold watch.

Maybe you could get it through inter-library loan. I'm a hunter too, a little OCD about stuff like that. :-)

Thanks for stopping in and the welcome home.

Well, that is quite an accomplishment and a gift is a great way to commemorate all your hard work!

Happy Retirement! I retired from my homeschool teacher's job last year (5 kids too). Your books look very interesting. Enjoy the new season. It's great.

Congratulations! Those look like lovely gifts. I've not read Trollope, but there's something about the look of your book that appeals to me. Review, please!

Judy, I've tried to find it at the library but to no avail. Frances, it'll be a while before I read it. You should see my TBR stacks. You should definitely read Trollope if you like slow moving action and fully developed characters. It's English village life at its best!
