More from Walking on Water by Madeleine L'Engle: "Despite the fear and unfaithfulness of his followers, Jesus' love never faltered, for it was not dependent on the merit and virtue and the qualifications of those he loved."
I want to love like Jesus. I want to look at the heart of a person not on the outside. I want to be loved for who I am inside. No, I want to be loved DESPITE who I am inside. That's how Jesus loves.

Me, too. I think we're missing something deep and important when we assess character based on the outer covering. I love how Jesus chose humble disciples, people who didn't have a lot of clout. It hurts when we are overlooked because we may not stand out much, but it's our pride that takes those kinds of blows poorly. Oh that I could embrace descending instead of ascending. And Jesus keeps giving such generous portions of grace. I love Him so.
I ordered your bird print and I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I think it may come tomorrow. Please send me your address in a comment (I won't publish it, of course) and I'll send it off to you asap! lovelovelove pp
Excellent point about being loved both for who we are inside and despite it. It's true!
