"Few things linger longer or become more indwelling than that feeling of both completion and emptiness when a great book ends. That the book accompanies the reader forever from that day forward, is part of literature's profligate generosity."
I haven't read all his books...yet. My favorite, so far, has been Beach Music. I won't gush here. I've already done that plenty of times before.

Oh, I wish you a serendipitous sighting! Wouldn't that be fun? I've only read one of his books. He writes in such a vivid way...I can remember scenes from his book as if it were a movie I watched (though I can't remember the title right off hand). =)
I have read several Pat Conroys and like him with reservations.
Recently, I perused through his cookbook, especially appreciating the chapter on Nathalie Dupree from whom I took a cooking class.
Thanks for stopping by Hiddenart.
Love the quote and I can relate. I sometimes wish a book (story) could go on forever so I'd never have to say good bye to those people in my books.
What else are you doing besides hunting for PC? Tell us!
I've only read The Prince of Tides when it comes to Pat Conroy. But, I'll be certain to look for Beach Music as you love it so much.
