Madeleine L'Engle Jackpot

Look what I found at Goodwill; three Madeleine L'Engle books. Not only that but two of them are signed by the author! How exciting is that? I wonder if that greatly adds to the value? It makes them more valuable to me! I love Goodwill! Sorry for the image that didn't quite finish loading. I must have clicked too soon. You can still see the signature, and that's what's important!

That is a wonderful find! I haven't read them for a while now, but I enjoyed them very much years ago.

How exciting, Debbie! (A tiny bit jealous here, for those signatures.) Doesn't that make those books seem so much more personal? I'd heard of the first book before, but not the other two. Let us know how you like them.

An exciting find indeed! These Crosswicks Journals are some of my favorites among her books. There is a fourth one you might find another time. Marvelous to have her signature inside too.

Big Score! I've never read those particular L'Engle books. I should. Do you have an opinion on them?

Jody, I've loved all her non-fiction, especially Walking on Water which is about creativity from a Christian viewpoint. Of the three I just bought, I've only read The Year of the Great Grandmother and really liked it.

I cannot believe someone got rid of autographed books by my favorite author! I own everything she's written, and only two are signed. Luckily, I was able to hear here speak at Wheaton College in the late eighties. What a wonderful find for you!!!

By the way, please send me your mailing address so that I can get Kingsolver's Flight Behavior to your box. :)

Bellezza, now I'm jealous that you got to actually hear her in person! I bought the books in Georgia and googled the person Ms. L'Engle autographed them for. Come to find out she is decreased and lived in South Carolina and is buried in Charleston. That was exciting to me to find out a little bit more about the original owner.
