Art and The Things You Love
"Your art is to be the praise of something that you love." John Ruskin
Here are three small watercolors of mine painted within the last 2-3 years and are of things that I love; the ocean, a Paris street scene, and a country cottage.
I know that I'm not a very good painter, but I derive an extreme amount of pleasure from trying to capture with paint and paper the world I see.

Oh my goodness! I wish that I could be a 'not very good' painter like you! I especially love the Paris scene. Gorgeous!
Ah, thanks! I like that one, too. I'd like doing more of that type. I have plenty of European street scenes in photographs. I just need to sit down and try to translate them into watercolors. The Paris street scene is only a 5x7. To me, little is easier. I might try one bigger though as my confidence level goes up, as I hope it does!
I love all three!
Thanks, Angie!
I like these very much, Debbie -- especially the third one. What a lovely, peaceful scene! I love Paris too, and the colors you choose are perfect. Watercolor is so hard, and you do it beautifully!
Thanks, MK!
You need to paint more! You have great natural potential! I love the Paris one.
Wow, Katy! That means a lot coming from you. Thanks!
These are wonderful, Debbie. Would love to see more!

I like these very much. In fact, as I was looking at them, I thought they might be by artists you were sharing. Ah yes, YOU are the artist! Beautiful work.
Thanks so much, Frances and Jody. Y'all are encouraging me to paint more!
LOVE your art.
Thanks, Linda.
