My Clean, Decluttered Bedroom

I've finished one room in my decluttering process; our bedroom.

I like to 'summerize' the house by getting rid of heavy fabrics, rugs, etc.

In this room I took down the curtains, rolled up the rug, and took off the bed's dust ruffle. I love the light, airy feeling now. It echoes a little. I love that sound when you walk around a room that's empty or almost empty.

When we first built the house, I painted this room a dark rose. After ten years, I had the green put up. I like it much better. It's very cool and restful. Sometimes I think about changing it but can't think of any color I'd like better. I may paint the bed and nightstand someday. Maybe paint the bed off-white and the nightstand turquoise. What do you think about that? I'm not sure about painting the bed, but the nightstand, for sure.

It looks nice and clean! I say you should paint. Why not?

I think the bed would look nice being white...very airy. :) I dream for a day our room is finally done. It seems like our room is always the last to be remodeled!

I know what you mean! There's something about switching over to summer colors and light fabrics that gets you in the mood for warmer living (: I'm decluttering myself and it really does lighten the energy of the space. A place for everything and everything in its place (:

I love the green color of you room, by the way. My vote for the bed is to paint it either white or an espresso. Those seem to be the two colors I like on wood these days (:

Your room looks great! I wish I had time for some serious decluttering. I need to begin in Lydia's room. It's always a mess, and the only way for it to not always be a mess is for there to not be so much stuff! Unfortunately, she is a magpie, so I don't know how much can realistically be done!
